Composition Competition 2022

Classic Pure Vienna is a competition organization based in Vienna, which aims to support new composers and young musicians of our time worldwide.

    Eligibility
  • The competition is open to composers of all nationalities. There are two categories.

    Category A
  • For composers who are 18 years old or older by 2022.

    Category B
  • For composers who are 17 years old or younger by 2022.

    Regulation
  • Works that have not won any competitions in the past may be submitted.

  • The works may be for solo, duo, trio, quartet or quintet.

  • Any instrument of western classical music may be used.

  • Electronics, voice and ethnic instruments may also be used.

  • A recording in MP3 form and a score in PDF form must be sent.

  • Wave files and links will not be accepted.

  • Recording may be a live or a midi recording.

  • The composition may have one or more movements.

  • Works must be not shorter than 2 minutes and not longer than 15 minutes in duration. 

  • Application DEADLINE: October 20, 2022

  • Announcement: November 1, 2022

  • Grand winner composition will be performed live in Mozarthaus Vienna.

  • The winners will be invited to the award ceremony in MOZARTHAUS VIENNA, which Classic Pure Vienna will organize on December 2, 2022.

    Evaluation
  • A jury assembled by Classic Pure Vienna will evaluate the scores. The Jury’s decisions cannot be appealed.

  • By agreeing to take part in the competition, all competitors undertake to accept and not contest these decisions.   The jury is not required to provide personal feedback and comments on participating compositions.

  • If the participants receive the same number of points from the juries, they receive the prize together and this rule is considered accepted.

  • Jury members are  Peter Illavsky, Farkhad Khudyev, Chikara Shiojima, Cagri Beklen, Burghard Toelke, Eldar Hudiyev.

    Prizes Category A     
  • 1st Prize:      750, - Euro & certificate

  • 2nd Prize:   600, - Euro & certificate

  • 3rd Prize:    450, - Euro & certificate

  • Grand winner composition will be performed live in Mozarthaus Vienna.

  • Winners of the competition receive a professional plus subscription  for one year for free via scodo by Universal Edition

  • All subscribers receive a voucher for free submission via scodo by Universal Edition

    Prizes Category B     
  • 1st Prize:      300, - Euro & certificate

  • 2nd Prize:   200, - Euro & certificate

  • 3rd Prize:     100, - Euro & certificate

  • Grand winner composition will be performed live in Mozarthaus Vienna.

  • Winners of the competition receive a professional plus subscription  for one year for free via scodo by Universal Edition

  • All subscribers receive a voucher for free submission via scodo by Universal Edition

    Registration fee for Composition Competition
  • The entry fee for Category A is 33, - Euros for each composition.

  • The entry fee for Category B is 23, - Euros for each composition.

  • It is possible to participate with more than one composition under one name, in that case, an entry fee must be paid for each composition.

  • The entry fee has to be paid using the following data.
